It should come as no surprise that a recent ruling by a Kansas Judge will allow confessed killer Scott Roeder to spout and support his misaligned reasoning behind the wonton murder of Wichita abortion doctor, George Tiller as part of his (Roeder’s) defense. After all, it was but a few short years ago (2005) that this same state mandated Intelligent Design be taught in public schools alongside Evolution. The apple certainly hasn’t fallen far from the tree in Kansas.
Snow Removal
What a wonderful surprise when venturing into Boulder County at 5:30AM on Thursday morning to discover that the Boulder County snowplows and sanders were hard at work clearing the county roads. It was equally surprising heading into the city of Boulder to discover that their full snow removal compliment of two BMW’s and one SAAB were outfitted with Teflon coated spatulas duct-taped to their front bumpers and salt shakers provided by Dolan’s. Congratulations to both…
Parity in the NFL
While lamenting the Denver Bronco’s 8 and 8 season and elimination from post season consideration. Ponder the following:
The combined records of the teams New Orleans played were 108 wins 144 losses. New Orleans played 6 games against teams that finished last in their division. New Orleans played 4 games against teams that finished third in their division and played 4 games against teams that finished second in their division while playing 2 games against teams that finished first in their division. New Orleans only played six games against teams with winning records. New Orleans played ten games against teams that were .500 or less.
Who’s in the playoffs? New Orleans…
Put A (LARGE!!!) Sock In It…
When the current mouthpiece for the Republican Party, Dick Cheney, speaks about the lack of terrorism control; he need look no further than his bathroom mirror to see where the biggest attack of this type occurred on US soil during his and Mr. Bush’s watch. There isn’t a muzzle big enough to stop his vitriol aimed in the wrong direction.
New Healthcare Plan–BAH HUMBUG!!!
As healthcare industry insurance executives and lobbyists looked at the Obama Administration healthcare bills emanating from the House of Representatives and/or the Senate…Their prime objective was not in determining how to comply with the new strictures of the legislation but, instead, to learn how to get by the new regulations. After a thorough review of the results of both proposals (House/Senate) they were heard to exclaim as they rode into the sunset…”We’ve Won!!!”
What A Difference A Day (or few weeks) Make
Dear Coach McDaniels:
How much easier was it to answer questions about the Denver Broncos when the record was 6W and 0L versus a team that is now 8W and 7L. What happened to the luster and swagger?
Thank You US Senators
Quite inadvertently the United States Senate has discovered the answer to all of society’s ills. Don’t have health insurance? Go buy some. Hungry? Purchase food. Need warm clothing? Go to Wal-Mart. No shelter? Rent or buy a house. No access to meaningful work? Get a job. Undereducated? Get admitted to a college. Depressed? Move to a warmer sunnier climate. Health insurance compliance? The United States Senate has covered that base too–Failure to comply will result in cash penalties. If there’s a discouraging element it’s that it took the Senate all this time to come to an answer that was obvious all along. Who hasn’t heard “pull yourself up with your own bootstraps!”. What’s been lacking has been an incentive which the Senate answers with failure to comply penalties. Where, pray tell, do we get in line to thank the Senate?

Universal Healthcare? HA!!!
“In God We Trust.” Unfortunately those same four words can’t be used when it comes to members of either political party when it comes to healthcare reform and universal coverage. Forty seven million uninsured people (growing daily) continue to struggle while insurance providers breathe a collective sigh of relief knowing their sacred monopoly is protected yet again. “Change we can believe in” seems rather hollow when weighed against “business as usual” in the hallowed halls of Washington DC.
Joe Lieberman–No Longer An Independent
Senator Joe Lieberman (R-Connecticut masquerading as an Independent) has shown that his allegiances are firmly behind the health care industries that call his state home. Congratulations to Joe for his support of these major campaign contributors at the expense of his constituents. Hopefully the voting populace of Connecticut will remember this support for dollars versus healthcare for the multitudes when next voting for Senator.
Priorities Or Lack Thereof
Nearly 4500 US Soldiers killed in action in Iraq. Approximately 950 additional troops killed in action in Afghanistan with a commitment of an additional 30,000. Healthcare Reform on life support while 47 million US citizens are left wondering if coverage will ever be available to them. Unemployment over 10%. Currently nine applicants for every one available job. Swine flu still significant. The deficit growing at record levels and, yet with all the above occurring, which headline garners the attention of mass media and the American Populace?
Tiger Woods has dalliance(s) outside his marriage.
What a Country!!!
