Current legislation winding it’s way through the Senate and Congress placing limitations on credit card issuers has also ended up with a small caveat allowing guns (aka loaded weapons) into the National Parks system. This practice was banned during the Reagan Administration but former President George Walker Bush overturned the ruling which was subsequently overturned by the courts and the ban was reinstated. Oklahoma Republican Senator Tom Coburn reintroduced this unnecessary and thoughtless need for loaded weapons in National Parks back into the current credit card bill and it appears President Obama will sign same. Makes one wonder what these gun proponents and National Rifle Association members are more fearful of…Smokey the Bear or Bambi?
